Fraud, Embezzlement, and Suicide Attempts Factors in Partnership Dispute

Two Florida restaurant chefs have filed a lawsuit against the majority owner of the restaurant over a partnership dispute. The lawsuit is seeking more than $1 million dollars in damages.

The suit alleges thirteen different counts of financial fraud, embezzlement, and theft. Incredibly, the complaint includes such outrageous behavior as misleading tax filings, destruction of records, and even suicide attempts.

The owner of the restaurant defends the suit by stating that the chefs, native Italians, do not understand customary business practices in the United States. Moreover, the owner claims that the records were destroyed because they took up too much room in her garage.

Both chefs remain and the restaurant and the restaurant is still open for business.
